User safety
How Presence helps you keep automation safe, controlled, and reversible.
How Presence keeps users safe
Presence is designed to keep you in control of your account, your automation, and the way your bot behaves. Safety comes from three things: clear boundaries, visible controls, and reversible actions.
Clear boundaries for your bot
Your bot only sends live replies when you have turned Autopilot on and when the conversation is allowed to run. Sandbox is always separate from real Fanvue conversations, so you can test tone, facts, or a new setup without affecting live fans.
Set strong boundaries
Good boundaries are the foundation of safe automation. Tell your bot what topics, tones, and requests are okay, and what should be avoided. Use clear language for things like:
- what type of content the bot may send
- when the bot should pause or hand off to you
- how to respond when a fan asks for something outside your limits
These boundaries help Presence stay aligned with your style and with Fanvue’s rules.
Follow Fanvue guidelines
Fanvue expects creators to keep interactions legal, consensual, and appropriate for the platform. Presence does not replace your responsibility to follow Fanvue’s policies. Some safe defaults to keep in mind:
- avoid minors, illegal activity, violence, or non-consensual content
- do not use automation for harassment or bullying
- keep paid content and selling behavior within Fanvue’s rules
- honor fan preferences, consent, and the boundaries you have set
If your bot setup is too broad, it can send messages that feel unsafe or off-brand. Use the same care you would with a human assistant.
Escalations and safe handoff
Presence supports escalation rules so the bot can stop or hand the conversation over to you when certain conditions are met. Escalations are a key safety feature:
- they keep the bot from continuing when a conversation becomes sensitive
- they let you review difficult requests before responding
- they help preserve boundaries by pausing automation for a fan when needed
Set escalation triggers that match your comfort level, and use the inbox takeover controls to handle the conversation directly.
You stay in charge
You decide when automation is active and when it should pause. You can turn Autopilot off globally, stop a bot for one fan from Inbox, or take over a conversation manually whenever you want a direct reply.
Safer defaults for conversations
Presence is built around your own instructions and boundaries. You define your bot’s voice, facts, and limits, so automation stays aligned with the way you want to communicate. If a conversation needs extra care, you can pause or stop the bot for that fan and review the situation yourself.
Reversible actions and easy review
You can review what Presence sent, skipped, or failed to send, then adjust the setup. If something feels off, you can pause live replies immediately, disconnect the Fanvue connection from Settings, or refine the bot’s instructions before trying again.
What to do if you want extra caution
- Pause Autopilot if you want to stop new replies right away.
- Turn the bot off for a specific fan from Inbox.
- Test changes in Sandbox before you use them live.
- Review your bot setup and recent behavior before you scale up.
Presence is meant to be helpful without taking your agency away. The safest setup is the one you review, test, and control.
